Unread

Booking Through Thursday has given me a reason to write what I consider my very first Book Blog post.

Yes, I'm starting a book blog, and my friend keundria aka kiki may be joining me.

Anyhow, here is a list of my unread books. It is extensive.

These are either school books or books I just picked up at a dollar book store. I need to read them, but somehow they've been put on the backburner.
School Books:
Antigone by Sophocles
Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky
Naked Economics by Charles Wheelan
Book Club Book:
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
Just Books:
Accountable by Tavis Smiley
Atonement by Ian McEwan
Audrey Hepburn's Neck by Alan Brown
Candide by Voltaire
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Stevenson
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Iggie's House by Judy Blume
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Night by Elie Wiesel
Quinn's Book by William Kennedy
Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs
She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
The Bad Place by Dean Koontz
The Book of Bright Ideas by Sandra Kring
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King
The Ruins by Scott Smith
The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
Utopia by Thomas More
That's 18 books. Perhaps I'll give some away? Check back and see.
Now, let me hear about your unread.

Hardcover or Paperback

I love books. I love them until they're worn and tired. Then I love them even more. Pretty books are either new or not worth my time. Give me frayed edges, ripped covers and torn binding. I want annotations and underling and that stain from when I drank cocoa while reading.

Don't get me wrong. I do not abuse books. In fact, my hardcover books are in perfect condition.

Paperbacks give me the freedom to drag a book through my life. School, reastaurant, hair salon, friend's house. They're light and easy, manageable.

And the smell. Somehow hardcover just doesn't get the smell right. Oh, how I love the new book smell and, oh, how I adore the worn library book smell.

So I choose paperback. All the story, easy and manageable, all for a cheaper price. I'll take it.

Oh and this all stems from this contest to win a copy of Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson.
